Catching up

Alright, I know I haven't posted in a while. Its amazing how hectic and busy life can seem in a few short weeks.

So I missed putting up pictures from Teancum's Birthday Party. He had lots of fun and was definitly spoiled on the toys this year (sometimes it too easy to do). The party was actually thrown by the wives of the superintendent and the project manager at Ryan's work (both had sons turning one). They decided since Teancum's birthday was the same month they would include him in on the fun and got him presents and a little spiderweb cake etc. Ryan and I also celebrated his birthday with him at home with the Maxwell family traditional scavenger hunt to find the birthday presents...We did this a couple of weeks early though because dad was eager to try out the new basketball hoop with him. I also missed posting for Halloween. Story hour at the library was that day and they did a halloween parade of the kids through the city offices where the employees handed out candy so Teancum had "Trick or Treat" down pat by the time we hit the streets that night. You've already seen Teancum in his tigger outfit so I'll just add a couple of pictures from the library of him and his friend Jackson. Teancum has the makeup on here so it's different from the other pictures. Jackson went as a Robins and Morton employee (his dad works with Ryan and they fixed up his hard hat to look like the ones they have to wear). Both the boys are way cute.

A new addition

Gabe and Becca just welcomed their third child into the world late Saturday night. Although the labor was painful it was quick and they have a beutiful baby boy now. Benjamin Jacob Black takes on a big name (his dad, great grandpa and other relatives all share the name Benjamin while Jacob is also known in the Bible as Isreal). pumpkin carving

A week ago we decided to carve a pumpkin for family night. I think what Teancum enjoyed most was getting inside the pumpkin. Check it out.

Hey Family and Friends,

So we just spent the weekend in beautiful San Antonio. We signed up for a Time Share presentation and Wyndam Hotels put us up in a Holiday inn for free. We attended the two hour presentation and declined the offer (maybe next year), recieved a mail in rebates for a future stay in a Wyndam Hotel upto $100 and $25 for gas, and had a great time doing fun activities all around the city.

Ryan and I took turns attending the temple there, it was very uplifting and the prettiest temple I've been in. We forgot to take pictures of it though...bummer I would have loved a new family picture in front of the temple. Teancum recognized the angel moroni as we drove up to it and got excited about seeing a temple too. I love that kid.

After all the temple excitement we went to the San Antonio zoo. Teancum of course loved the animals and they had a cool kiddie area where he could swim and we could rest for a little while (it came complete with pool toys). There was also a petting zoo with lots of goats, you could feed them for a quarter and there were brushes to groom them. The goats were so anxious to be fed that all you had to do was walk over to the food machine and the would swarm. Even if you walked around with your hand closed they would come and try to eat food out of your empty hand. It was quite the experience.

After the zoo we rode a small train around the park and zoo. Teancum's first ride ever. He had a great time waving to all the cars, motercyclists, golfers, ect. and loved that they would wave back.

The rest of the day was taken up with the presentation, a short jaunt along the riverwalk, a very late and very short nap for Teancum, and going out to eat. We didn't even get to try out the pool at the hotel...oh well. At least we got lots of pictures to remember the trip with. Hope you enjoy them!

Ryan has been working hard at his new Job. He's been in the office the last four months getting everything caught up. Starting monday he should be working out in the field so that he can get everything caught up out there too (he's that good). To give you some scope on how big the hospital will be, here are some pictures of his work in progress. I sure am proud of him.

Face Painting

Teancum and I enjoy coloring together. Lately our watercolors have ended up on our faces rather than on paper. Sometimes we'll paint our noses and press them to the paper to see the stamps, more often then not though we just end up with very colorful faces. I hope this practice comes in handy come halloween time...Good thing its all washable, right!
